In 1917, Louis Cartier invented the Tank watch.  A myth was created.  A few years prior to the watch's 1919 release, the initial prototype was sent to General Pershing as a gift.  The watch's distinctive look comes from the lugs' perfect integration into the exposed edges of the flat vertical bran cards.  With a free-spirited, sophisticated clientele, the sharp, clean lines have proven incredibly appealing.  Despite inspiring innumerable modifications, the now-iconic Tank watch has managed to maintain its unique character.
